Knee Assessment & Rehabilitation Blueprint

$249.00

Our complete knee assessment and rehab blueprint is designed to show you exactly how to deconstruct complex knee pain, identify the likely source of symptoms, uncover the key physical limitations, and build targeted rehab plans.

You’ll learn how joint and tendon presentations can behave differently, what to look for during your subjective and objective assessment, and most importantly, how those findings should change the way you load and rehabilitate the knee.

This blueprint is build to give you the confidence to know you are able to get results every time.

Category:

Stop treating all knee pain the same, this blueprint focuses specifically on understanding and managing knee joint and tendon-related presentations, including patellofemoral and tibiofemoral joint problems alongside common knee tendon problems.

This course is built to continue to evolve, giving you lifetime access and consistently updated case studies inside the course

Module 1: Knee Assessment & Rehab Fundamentals

In this module, you’ll learn the foundational principles behind our step-by-step approach to knee pain. We’ll explore how to identify the likely dominant source of symptoms, distinguish between joint and tendon presentations, understand irritability and load tolerance, and use this information to determine the most appropriate starting point for rehab.

Rather than jumping immediately into strengthening, you’ll learn how to determine what the knee needs right now, and what it is ready to tolerate next.

Module 1 outline:

  • Knee tolerance & capacity principles
  • Knee movement overload analysis
  • How to create a knee movement options map
  • IKN knee range of motion classification system
  • IKN knee force production classification system
  • How to create a knee movement dosage map
  • IKN test – treat – rehab process
  • Understanding joint vs tendon-dominant knee pain
  • Patellofemoral vs tibiofemoral joint presentations
  • Understanding tendon-related knee presentations
  • Knee pain case scenarios

Module 2: Knee Assessment Process

In this module, you’ll learn how to systematically assess the painful knee and determine what is most likely driving the presentation and what physical qualities need to be addressed.

We’ll show you how to combine the subjective assessment, symptom location and behaviour, joint loading patterns, range of motion, swelling, muscle function and force production to build a clearer picture of the individual in front of you.

The goal isn’t simply to find something that is “weak” or “tight.” It is to understand why particular movements and loads provoke symptoms, what the knee currently tolerates, and which variables give you the biggest opportunities for rehab.

Module 2 outline:

  • Patellofemoral & tibiofemoral biomechanics
  • Subjective assessment of knee joint & tendon presentations
  • Knee symptom location & behaviour assessment
  • Knee swelling & effusion assessment
  • Knee flexion & extension ROM assessments
  • Tibial rotation ROM assessments
  • Quadriceps force production assessments
  • Hamstring force production assessments
  • Ankle ROM & force production assessments
  • Hip ROM & force production assessments
  • Functional knee loading assessment
  • Knee pain case scenario #1 — Joint presentation
  • Knee pain case scenario #2 — Tendon presentation

Module 3: Knee Rehabilitation Strategies

In this module, you’ll learn how to turn your assessment findings into a targeted, progressive knee rehabilitation plan.

Rather than giving every painful knee the same strengthening program, we’ll show you how rehabilitation can differ depending on whether you are dealing with a joint or tendon-dominant presentation, the irritability of the knee, and the specific movement and force-production limitations identified during assessment.

You’ll learn how to progress from strategies designed to restore comfortable movement and improve tolerance, through targeted muscle loading, and ultimately towards integrated strengthening and higher-level knee function.

Every strategy is broken down in detail, including why we use it, when we use it, how we dose it, and how we progress or regress it based on the client’s response.

Module 3 outline:

  • Knee joint movement & ROM strategies
  • Patellofemoral joint loading strategies
  • Tibiofemoral joint loading strategies
  • Knee tendon loading strategies
  • Quadriceps force production strategies
  • Hamstring force production strategies
  • Ankle ROM & force production strategies
  • Hip ROM & force production strategies
  • Integrated lower-limb strengthening strategies
  • Joint-dominant knee pain rehab case scenario
  • Tendon-dominant knee pain rehab case scenario
  • Knee pain case scenario #1 — Joint presentation
  • Knee pain case scenario #2 — Tendon presentation
